UNITI Shelter
A roof for neighbours who have lost theirs: a place to stay, and people who help with what comes next.
What it is
When a neighbour has nowhere to sleep, the community finds them somewhere. UNITI arranges and pays for accommodation, and members around the person help with the rest: a meal, a lift to an appointment, a resume, a job lead through Upskill. Today UNITI is housing two people. It is small on purpose: each person is known by name, and the aim is not a bed for a night but a way back.
Who it's for: People in the community who are without a home, or about to be, and members who can offer a room, a lead, or a few hours.
What members leave with

- Someone who knows your name and checks in
- A path to work and a home of your own, through the same community
How it works
- 1A member tells UNITI about someone who needs a roof, or the person contacts UNITI directly.
- 2UNITI arranges accommodation and covers the cost.
- 3Members nearby take the practical things: meals, lifts, forms, a lead. Upskill helps with work when the person is ready.
Questions
Who decides who is housed?
The lead and the founder, case by case, with the person. We do not publish criteria because we are not running a queue; we are helping the neighbours we know about, as far as gifts allow.
Can I offer a room?
Yes. Tell us what you can offer and for how long; UNITI handles the arrangement so nobody is put in an awkward position.
